Basketball Coach Needed
Our local cluster of schools has a basketball tournament planned and we would love to have some teams compete BUT we need a coach.
Are you able to help or do you know someone who could help us?
Inquiry Focus For Term 3 2018
Term 3 Focus is “Aitua- Natural Disasters”
We will be inquiring into
- how natural disasters affect people
- how people make choices to meet their needs and wants
- how natural features are changed and resources affected by natural events
We have the Auckland Museum visiting us this week and next week and a visit to the Museum is planned for the end of the term.
Whanau Conferences & Mid Year Reports
This is important. Whanau Conferences will be held on Wednesday 8th August. School will close for the day at 12 noon and the conference times will start at 1pm. Notices will be coming home for your booking times. The mid year report that your child brought home at the end of Term 2 will be discussed. Children’s next learning goals will be shared as well as what you, as family, and us, as a school, will do to help our learners reach their full potential
Winning House for Term 2 2018
Tāmaki Primary School has four houses which are named after the streets in our area. The streets are named after places where New Zealand soldiers fought in World War 2. The houses are – Benghazi (green), Tripoli (blue), Tobruk (red) and Alamein (yellow). Our children get tokens throughout the term for good behaviour and learning. At the end of the term the tokens are totalled and the winning house gets a treat and everyone must wear that house’s colour on the day. The winning house for Term 2 was Benghazi – they will be having pizza for lunch on Friday and everyone will be wearing green!
Winter & Attendance
We have a very big focus on attendance – all our learners need to be at school on time everyday. There are strong research links between poor learning achievement and poor attendance. We all want our learners to reach their full potential.
If your child is sick you should keep them at home – the less germs we spread the healthier our school and community will be. BUT only keep them home if they are sick.
