We’re super excited to see all tamariki now next week, Tuesday/Rātū 7 February 🤗

For 2023 Classes: 

  • Juniors (NE-Y4) please go to Miss Gormly who is now in Room 3, to let you know your class
  • Te Puna Wairua (TPW) please go to Whaea Lee
  • Talamuka-‘a-Tonga please go to Mrs Tafea
  • Seniors (Y5-Y8) please go to Mrs Tafea in Talamuka-‘a-Tonga who will let you know your class

Class lists – are displayed as usual outside each classroom door and also available at the Office.  Mrs Tafea, Whaea Lee and Miss Gormly will also have their Team Class Lists. We’ll all be available on the day to help out.  

Enrolment – a warm welcome to our new tamariki and parents/whānau!  See our ‘Enrolment’ page on the Website.  Come to the Office and we’ll help you enrol your child.

Uniform & stationery:

Eftpos or Internet banking only.  Please see Miss Duggan in the Office

  • Uniform including hats purchased at School and stationery lists available
  • School Hats in Term 1 and Term 4

Walking to School:

  • Safely use the paths and Tripoli Rd pedestrian crossing (8:30 – 8:55 am; 3:00 – 3:15 pm)
  • Pedestrian paths at Benghazi Rd and Alamein Rd (over the little bridge and use the mini Zebra crossing)

Drop off / Pick up:

  • Safely use Tripoli and Benghazi Rd and/or surrounding streets
  • For everyone’s safety, please do not drop off through Alamein Rd gate (our Sommerville School taxis/cars need safe access to the turning bay).  Please do not park on Sommerville School grass verge (it is unsafe for Sommerville staff and their taxis/cars)

  • Paper copies to the eldest/only child (Friday fortnightly)

  • School Facebook page for celebration of tamariki and activities, includes link to the main Newsletter

Queries, concerns, School info:

  • See your child’s teacher in the first instance.  You may like to see the Team Leader, DP or Principal.  You’re welcome to visit, call the School or email, please let us know early

Free lunches:

  • With the change of start dates announced for schools, we aim for lunch to start up again first day back next week 7 Feb

Breakfast Club:

  • As usual in the Hall 8:10 am – 8:40 am
